Work Experience

After you complete the training program, you can begin the certification process. This process entails a review of evidence demonstrating your capability and experience as a Master Black Belt. To become certified as an  MBB, a candidate must successfully meet all requirements. To be eligible to apply for the official MBB examination, a candidate must hold a current Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and pass the MBB portfolio review process. Within the portfolio, a candidate must have one of the following experience levels:

1) Completion of the Master Black Belt training
AND
2) At least 5 years of experience in the role of a LSSBB or MBB.
OR
3) Completion of 10 Six Sigma Black Belt projects.

Candidates must be able to meet these minimum eligibility requirements in order to have their portfolio reviewed.

Προαπαιτούμενα ASQ

To become certified as an ASQ MBB, a candidate must successfully meet all requirements. To be eligible to apply for the MBB examination, a candidate must hold a current ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt certification (CSSBB) and pass the MBB portfolio review process. Within the portfolio, a candidate must have one of the following experience levels:


1) At least 5 years of experience in the role of a SSBB or MBB.
    OR
2) Completion of 10 Six Sigma Black Belt projects.


Candidates must be able to meet these minimum eligibility requirements in order to have their portfolio reviewed.


PORTFOLIO REVIEW


Once a candidate has met the minimum eligibility requirements, the next step in the process is a portfolio review of the candidate's body of SSBB or MBB work.


Note: Six Sigma Green Belt level work will not be considered.


When the review panel approves a candidate's portfolio, the candidate will be eligible to register for and take the MBB examination. Only after successfully completing all requirements and passing the examination will candidates receive MBB certification.

Certification Requirements

The Certification Requirements are broken down into 3 separate requirements:


Exam Requirement:


To successfully obtain the professional designation of a CSSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (CSSC-CSSMBB) issued by The Council for Six Sigma Certification, individuals must successfully complete our CSSC Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification Exam and achieve a score of 540 points (or higher) out of a total 600 possible points (90%).


Once the examination assessment fee is paid, applicants will have 1 year to successfully pass the exam.


Experience Affidavit Requirement:


Applicants will be required to submit a signed Six Sigma Work Experience Affidavit acknowledging that they have a minimum 4 years’ experience executing Six Sigma Projects in a Black Belt Capacity (or equivalent).


Projects Requirement:


The projects must be completely separate from any project submitted for the Six Sigma Black Belt Level II or Level III Certifications.


Prerequisites

A Six Sigma Black Belt Level III issued by The Council for Six Sigma Certification is a prerequisite for applying for this Certification.


A minimum 4 years previous experience executing Six Sigma Projects in a Black Belt capacity (or equivalent) is required.

Reference from a manager or director who worked with you while a Black Belt.
A proctored Online Exam of  22 questions. 12 Open Ended questions. 10 Multiple Choice.

MBB Accreditation Board Interview




Demonstrate leadership experience and coaching and mentoring skills.
Deliver a 15 minute presentation about one of your Black Belt projects to a live panel of peers.
Answer questions from a live panel of Master Black Belts and Black Belts.
