Quantitative Methods in Process Improvement – DMAIC Framework
At Greece Lean Six Sigma, we fully align our training methodology, certification criteria, and project-based learning practices with the requirements of the international standard ISO 13053, which outlines the use of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) as the core methodology for Six Sigma-based process improvement.
This compliance statement covers both parts of the standard:
- ISO 13053-1:2011 – Methodology
- ISO 13053-2:2011 – Tools and Techniques
Our Commitments under ISO 13053
1. DMAIC-Centric Training Design
All Green Belt and Black Belt courses offered by Greece Lean Six Sigma are built upon the DMAIC structure. Each phase is covered in depth, with corresponding tools, templates, and checkpoints, in line with ISO 13053-1.
2. Project-Based Certification
Certification at Green and Black Belt level requires the application of the DMAIC methodology in real or simulated improvement projects, documented and reviewed in compliance with the guidelines of ISO 13053-2.
3. Standardized Tools and Statistical Rigor
Participants are trained and evaluated on their ability to use core Six Sigma tools:
- Process Mapping, SIPOC, CTQ Trees
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Hypothesis Testing and Regression
- Capability Analysis
- Control Plans
Training is conducted using Minitab®, SigmaXL®, or equivalent statistical tools.
4. Qualified and Experienced Instructors
Our instructors are Six Sigma Master Black Belts with extensive project portfolios and instructional experience. They are responsible for ensuring that all training and coaching activities conform to ISO 13053 standards.
5. Continuous Improvement of Learning Materials
All training materials, exam banks, project templates, and practical case studies are reviewed annually and updated based on:
- New statistical best practices
- Participant feedback
- ISO revisions or sector-specific needs
