Academic Integrity and Learner AI Use Policy

Certifications from Greece Lean Six Sigma (GLSS) only have value when they prove real competence. This policy sets out what is and is not allowed in exams, assignments and Yellow, Green and Black Belt projects, especially in relation to artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Scope

It applies to all learners in GLSS programmes and to exams we run on behalf of certification bodies (such as ILSSI, IASSC / PeopleCert, PECB), together with each body’s own rules.

What Is Allowed

  • using AI to understand concepts, revise and practise, for example with the Lean Six Sigma Coach GPT
  • using AI for ideas, structure or language editing, with the use declared
  • using statistical software for data analysis, with the learner understanding and interpreting the results personally

What Is Not Allowed

  • using AI or any other help during exams, unless explicitly permitted
  • submitting an assignment or project written by AI or by another person as your own
  • inventing or altering data, measurements or project results
  • copying material without citing the source
  • sharing exam questions with others

Green Belt and Black Belt Projects

Projects must be based on real data and real application. The learner must be able to explain every DMAIC step, tool and conclusion in the presentation or assessment interview. The confidentiality of employer data is protected through anonymisation.

Declaring AI Use

When you use AI in an assignment or project, briefly state which tool you used and for what purpose. Declaring it does not reduce your grade. Hiding it is a breach.

Handling Breaches

  • suspected breaches are reviewed fairly and confidentially
  • the learner always has the chance to explain their work
  • depending on severity, the outcome may be resubmission, rejection of the work or cancellation of the exam
  • for certification body exams, the body’s rules also apply

Every decision can be appealed under the Complaints & Appeals Policy.

Review

This policy is reviewed annually, or when certification body rules or available AI tools change.
