1. Purpose
Greece Lean Six Sigma (GLSS) is committed to delivering reliable, high-quality training programs. However, circumstances beyond reasonable control may occasionally require the rescheduling or cancellation of an educational program.
This policy defines the conditions, communication process, and participant rights in cases of force majeure or extraordinary circumstances, ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance with international best practices.
2. Scope of Application
This policy applies to:
- All live online, blended, and in-person training programs
- Open-enrollment and corporate (in-house) courses
- Educational and certification-related programs delivered directly by GLSS
3. Force Majeure & Extraordinary Circumstances
GLSS reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a training program due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, fires, extreme weather)
- Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies
- Government restrictions, strikes, or regulatory prohibitions
- Technical failures beyond GLSS control (platform outages, infrastructure failure)
- Sudden unavailability of key instructors due to illness or emergency
- Any other unforeseen event rendering delivery impracticable or unsafe
4. Communication to Participants
In the event of rescheduling or cancellation:
- Participants will be promptly informed via:
- Email, and
- Telephone communication (where applicable)
- Communication will include:
- The reason for the change
- Revised dates (if applicable)
- Available options for participants
5. Participant Options in Case of Date Change
If a training program is rescheduled:
Participants may choose one of the following options:
- Attend the program on the new dates, with no additional cost, or
- Request a full refund if the new dates are not feasible.
Refunds will be processed in accordance with the GLSS Refund Policy.
6. Participant Rights in Case of Cancellation
If a training program is fully cancelled by GLSS:
- Participants are entitled to a full refund of the amount paid.
- Refunds will be processed using the original payment method, within the timeframe defined in the Refund Policy.
- GLSS bears no responsibility for:
- Travel expenses
- Accommodation costs
- Loss of income or indirect damages
Participants are therefore advised not to make non-refundable travel arrangements until receiving final course confirmation.
7. Exclusions & Limitations
- This policy applies only to cancellations or rescheduling initiated by GLSS.
- Participant-initiated cancellations are governed separately by the Refund Policy and Terms & Conditions.
- Force majeure situations do not constitute contractual breach.
8. Governance & Review
This policy:
- Forms part of the GLSS Educational & Quality Management System
- Is aligned with:
- ISO 21001:2018 (Educational Organizations)
- ISO 29993:2017 (Non-Formal Learning Services)
- Is reviewed annually or upon significant operational or regulatory change
