PeopleCert syllabus v1.1, January 2026, §1.1 lists 16/80/120 hours; §5 specifically recommends 80 accredited training hours for GB, while §4.3 lists no exam prerequisites. CSSC’s hours concern provider accreditation; its Standard GB exam has no training prerequisite.
ILSSI’s FAQ describes duration as dependent on the level, provider and delivery method; no universal hourly minimum was identified there. ASQ’s reviewed CSSGB eligibility page specifies qualifying experience rather than a training-hour threshold. Black Belt is shown for progression context, not as an entry recommendation from this GB finder.
Compare certification options
Choose your examination route separately from your GLSS programme. The CSSC Standard GB exam is an assessment option, distinct from the three GLSS offerings above.
| Certification option | Entry requirements | Assessment | Best fit to explore |
|---|---|---|---|
| PeopleCert / IASSC GB | No formal certification prerequisites; prior YB certification is not required. | 100 questions; 3 hours; closed-book. The current syllabus recommends 80 hours of accredited GB training. | You want this credential and can prepare across the full GB syllabus. |
| ASQ CSSGB | 3 years of relevant full-time, paid work; no educational waiver. | Examination against ASQ’s CSSGB Body of Knowledge. | Your work experience qualifies and your professional goal calls for ASQ. |
| ILSSI LSS Green Belt | No fixed work-experience threshold in the FAQ. Confirm direct GB entry and YB requirements. | 100 multiple-choice questions; 2 hours. English and Greek options are listed. | You want an ILSSI credential; compare the language and syllabus with your learning needs. |
| ILSSI GB for Services | Confirm entry rules for this specific variant with ILSSI / GLSS. | 100 multiple-choice questions; 2 hours. Listed in English. | You work in services, telecom, banking or administrative operations; check the variant’s syllabus. |
| CSSC Standard GB exam | No prerequisites or project requirement for standard GB. | 100 questions; open-book; 2 hours. | Already trained, strong GB knowledge, seeking one certification and comfortable with a timed exam. |
ILSSI direct-entry prerequisites are not specified on the reviewed exam pages, so this guide asks you to confirm them. CSSC standard Green Belt is distinct from its project-based Level II credential.
